Henry "Mert" R. McKasson

Henry ("Mert") Ronald McKasson of Cincinnati, Ohio, passed away on Sunday April 6, 2025 at the age of 89. Mert was born to Elvis William McKasson and Eleanor Dorothy McKasson (Williams) on September 18, 1935 in Evansville, Indiana. His siblings, who predeceased him, were William, Richard, and Sharon. Mert was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Beloved husband of Salome McKasson (Bailiff) from 1957 until her passing in 2004 and by whom he is survived by his daughter Melissa, grandchildren Brandon Ramsey, Adrianne Meyer, and Alexander Sherman, and great-grandchildren Eli and Luci Meyer. Beloved husband of Erma-Lee McKasson (Sears) from 2008 until her passing in 2022 and by whom he is survived by daughters Beverly, Brenda, Debbi, and Darla, and many grand children and great-grandchildren.

Mert was a graduate of the Cincinnati Bible College with degrees in Liberal Arts and Sacred Literature. He was also a graduate of the Mechanical Arts Institute and worked as a mechanical engineer for the Bushman Company until his retirement as Chief Design Engineer. Mert soon returned to work as a consultant at Intelligrated and enjoyed working with a new generation of engineers until his final retirement. He joined the Western Hills Church of Christ as a member in 1966 and served in various capacities as Elder, Bible School Director, and teacher of the Keystone Class for over 40 years. His passions included theology, ministry, the natural sciences, history, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Mert's memory will be honored during visitation and funeral services to be held at Western Hills Church of Christ located at 5064 Sidney Road, Cincinnati, OH 45238. Visitation will take place on Saturday, April 12, 2025, from 12:00 PM to 1:30 PM, followed by the funeral service at 1:30 PM.
