Henry Lovell Post, of Baytown, passed away December 12, 2013, at the age of 97. He was born on May 17, 1916, in San Juan, Texas, to Robert Dunn and Eva Zechmeister Post. He graduated Salutatorian from Robert E. Lee High School in 1932. Mr. Post then graduated from Lee Junior College in 1936 and received a B.S.E.E. degree from the University of Texas in Austin. In 1941, he married Doris Jean Perry, the love of his life for more than seventy-two years. Mr. Post was employed by Humble Oil (now ExxonMobil) for forty-one years, retiring as a Senior Staff Engineer. He was a lifetime member of IEEE Houston Section, holding the position of Chairman in 1967-1968. An active member of St. Marks United Methodist Church, Mr. Post was a leader in the scouting program at the church for over forty years. Preceded in death by his parents, Robert Dunn and Eva Zechmeister Post; sisters, Elsie Chervenka and Helen Reed; brother, Robert W. Post; nephew, Lawrence Grill; and grandson, Michael Woodward, Mr. Post is survived by his wife, Doris Post; sons, Thomas A. Post and wife, Carol Ann and Robert P. Post and wife, Sarah; daughters, Carol Post Nayman and husband, Ralph, Sandra Post Smith and husband, Thomas, Susan Post Woodward and husband, Robert, and Donna Post Rubino and husband, Richard; sixteen grandchildren; and seventeen great grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 5 – 7 p.m. on Thursday, December 19, 2013, at Crespo & Jirrels Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Friday, December 20, 2013, at St. Marks United Methodist Church, with Reverend Mike Proctor officiating. Burial will follow at Memory Gardens Cemetery. Honoring the family as pallbearers will be Mr. Post's grandsons, Richard Post, Christopher Emory, John Fellers, Benjamin Woodward, James Woodward and Brian Fellers. The family has requested that for those desiring, memorial donations may be made in Mr. Post's memory to the Memorial Fund at St. Marks United Methodist Church, 3811 N. Main, Baytown 77521.
