Dear Mrs. Stuckey,
I know this is late. I was thinking of Dr. Stuckey and happened to look him up on Google and saw his obituary.
Dr. Stuckey was an amazing guy. He was kind, soft spoken, and sharp as a tack! I was lucky enough to work for him while I was in school and later became him patient. He was a great doctor but an amazing man.
I hope you and your family are well and I know you will all see Dr. Stuckey again. I am sorry for your loss and the world is shy a really great guy. But, God gained a wonderful internist and renaissance man!

Geannie, we so sad to hear about Dr. Stuckey passing away. He was such a kind and caring doctor. Thank you to him and you for hiring me as your office nurse when Susan left. Bill and I think of you both often and appreciate all of the kindness you extended to us. It was such an honor to work on your office team. We miss you and are sending you prayers and condolences. Dr. Stu key was a wonderful, kind, and caring physician. I am so sad to hear of his passing. I enjoyed working for him I his office on Randolph Road. He and Geannie were an awesome team and I was blessed to work on there team. They really cared about their patients. I know he will be missed very much. Geannie we are sending you hugs and prayers. Throughout my life I have met and became friends with many interesting people. From all walks of life ... from car mechanics to mountain climbers. Each with their own unique stories to tell about the life they've led. Henry was one of those special ones.
I met Henry and Geannie some years ago while traveling with our RV in Michigan. The quite and unassuming man was walking his dog Buddy past my coach and we nodded at each other and exchanged a few plesantries before he moved along. The next day he again was walking his dog but this time I invited him to join me in the shade of my patio. After a few minutes of chatting I knew this was someone special. His slow, southern drawl began to share tails of his travels in his RV. His love of the West and his early days at Yellowstone plus our shared stories of mechanical problems with our RV's. Our appreciation of photography was also a common topic that summer. It was this subject that drew us closer together. At one point he asked if I would do a portrait of his dog Buddy.. A man who loves his dog that much, I concluded, must be pretty special.
While at his South Carolina home, he wanted to show me something. He went into a cabinet and pulled out an old Kodak Carosel slide tray (Remember the old round trays that held about 80 color slides). He said he'd taken many photographs throughout his life but tired of carrying them around so decided he'd keep only his most favorite 80 pictures. Imagine trying to pick just 80 images that represented your life. How, what and why would he choose? As it turned out it was pretty easy for Henry. About half of them were of his life and travels out West and the other half were of the real love of his life, Geannie.
Henry shared those precious photographs with me and I had the opportunity to make up a small hard cover book and a video from them. To have someone share those memories ... his most cherished, was a great honor. I will miss him deeply.

If you ever were to meet a “real” Southern gentleman, that was Henry.
I met Henry at Cousins RV Park in South Haven. Michigan in 2013. He and Geannie and dog Buddy were staying at the park for a month.
A friendship was formed between Henry and Geannie and me and my husband, Phil.
We had lots of fun at cousins and even had a “ surprise” birthday party for Henry, who turned 78! I think we were able to secure some of his beloved “boiled peanuts”.
We visited at Calawassie Island and were Henry’s guests at the Clubhouse. The next year, Geannie and Henry hosted a reunion of folks from Cousins at Calawassie Island and everyone had the best time.
Over the years, we visited with Henry and Geannie at their house in Charleston and also visited at the Senior Living Center they moved to on Daniel Island.
If not for COVID, we would have visited Henry at his son’s home in 2020.
I am saddened by Henry’s passing, but so happy that I had an opportunity to share some very special times with him and Geannie.
Rest In Peace, dear friend...you will be missed.
When we lose someone we love, we must learn NOT to live without them...BUT to live with the LOVE they left behind.

Geannie, I have tried to find y'all over the years, but never had any luck.
I am so sorry about Dr.Stuckey-I saw it in the Charlotte Observer yesterday.
You both were so great to work for, so I thank-you for that!
I am sad about Dr.Stuckey but was so happy to see that his heart was healthy for 85 years.

Geannie, our thoughts are with you and your family. We have many special memories of the times we lived down the street from you and Henry on Callawassie. Neighborhood Christmas gatherings at your home, visiting with Henry as he walked his beloved dog, Buddy, sharing landscape information, swopping travel stories when we both had RVs and on and on. We are holding you close to our hearts

I regret that I never met Henry. He was related to me through his mother. His grandmother(?) was Annie Hart Moorer who was the sister of my grandfather Brantley Bowen Hart.
My mother visited The Stuckey family when you moved to Charlotte in the 1960's. My siblings and I were in school so we weren't able to accompany her on that visit.
