Buch Funeral Home - LititzHenry “Bill” W. Wismer, 88, of Lititz, died peacefully following a long illness on Friday, November 7, 2025 at Homeland Center, Harrisburg. Born in west Lebanon, he was the son of the late Henry B. and Lottie Drews Wismer. Bill was the loving husband of Ellen Shenk Wismer, and they were blissfully together for 70 years. Bill and Ellen made their home in the Lititz community, living there and sharing life with friends for over 65 years.
Bill worked as an electrician for many years on big construction projects and was a graduate of Hershey High School. Bill was an active and faithful member of the Lutheran Church of the Good Shepherd, Lancaster. Bill was an avid racecar driver and Nascar fan. He was a Past Master and member of Manheim Masonic Lodge #587; and also the Lancaster County Hunting Club. Bill had a passion for the outdoors; from hunting and golfing, to working extensively around his home, gardening and landscaping, to bird watching; he loved being amid God’s creation. He also loved rooting for his favorite football teams, the Philadelphia Eagles and Penn State Nittany Lions. Above all Bill had a deep love and passion for his family and cherished his many travels and time with his wife, children, and grandchildren.
Surviving in addition to his wife, Ellen, are two sons: William H. Wismer (Stephany) of Erie, PA, Jon B. Wismer (Melissa) of Marietta, GA, six grandchildren: Jade H. (Tyler), Andy, Samantha, Karina, Morgan, Maison, a sister, Sue Stichler (Ray) of Raystown, and many nieces and nephews. Preceding him in death is his beloved daughter, Jan L. Herbst, two brothers: Philip and James Wismer, a half-brother, Robert Wismer, and a half-sister, Betty Herbst.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend Bill’s Memorial Service at the Buch Funeral Home, 216 South Broad Street, Lititz, on Saturday, November 22, 2025 at 11:30 AM.
