Mr. Herbert Wilson Beattie

Herb was a true hero and benefactor to me. When I was 12 years old, he generously offered to let be be his assistant when he was director of the opera. I took notes, plugged parking meters, washed champagne glasses, but above all else I watched and listened to Herbs stories. He was utterly kind and generous in the gifts of both time and spirit. Though I was really a nobody, Herb always treated me like I was special, like I was vital. He touched my life in incredible ways and he will be in my heart forever.

I spent many years recording commercials with the talented Herb Beattie. It was my great honor to share that time with him. My heart goes out to Laurie. Rarely does a day go by when I don't think of Herb.
