Mr. Darnell Calahan, 68, passed away Friday, September 22, 2023.
Mr. Calahan was born in Savannah, GA, but was a lifelong resident of Effingham County and was a member of First Baptist Church of Rincon. Darnell will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Bonnie G. Calahan; father, Herbert Calahan; mother, Lillie Mae Lively Calahan; and brothers Arthur Russell Calahan and Franklin Anderson.
Survivors include his two sons, Michael Calahan (Kayla) and David Calahan (Samantha) of Guyton; brother, Herbert H. Calahan of Pembroke; sisters, Theresa Herb of Pembroke, Janet Marvel of Delaware, Tawnua Gordon of Rincon; six grandchildren, Kendall, Elaine, Karson, Lauren, Kolt and Dalton; and a number of nieces and nephews.
A visitation will be held from 6-8pm on Tuesday, September 26, 2023, at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home. A funeral service will be held 11am Wednesday at Carlson & Riggs Funeral Home with interment to follow in the Springfield Annex Cemetery.
