Jeniffer Arlene Abrego, born May 20, 1980, in the vibrant heart of McAllen, Texas, departed this world on January 6, 2026, leaving an indelible mark on all who knew her. A formidable presence, Jeniffer illuminated every room she entered with her infectious spirit and radiant smile. Her courage shone brightly, especially in the face of adversity; having faced a harrowing accident that nearly took her from us before, she emerged even stronger and more resolute.

Her life was a tapestry woven with dedication, warmth, and a zest for living. With an unwavering commitment to hard work, Jeniffer thrived in her career in customer service, where she not only impressed her clients but became a cherished figure they sought out to handle their needs. The respect she garnered in her professional life mirrored her approach to everything else: she was fiercely dedicated and genuinely selfless, always placing others’ needs above her own.

A talented athlete, Jeniffer excelled in volleyball, basketball, and track for the Hidalgo Pirates, embodying a spirit of competition and teamwork that inspired those around her. Her love of life manifested itself in many ways — from riding her motorcycle with a sense of freedom and joy to cherishing precious moments spent with family, including her beloved children and grandchildren. Tiny and Scrapy, her pets, were more than animals; they were companions that brought her laughter and comfort.

Jeniffer adored and cherished the Disney character Stitch, a sentiment that reflected her playful nature and her affinity for all things whimsical. She was not only a mother and grandmother but the steadfast core of her family, nurturing her loved ones with unwavering love and affection.

She is survived by her cherished children, Jeffry(Ashley) Salazar, Andrew(Jetzi) Salazar, Jeramy B. Salazar, Jovany(Mike G.) N. Salazar. Her legacy continues through her grandchildren — Otilia J. Salazar, Jeffry J. Salazar Jr., Xavier E. Salazar, Natalia M. Barrera, Athena A. Garza, Aleeyda J. Canchola, and Arleene Salazar — who carry forward her spirit of joy and resilience. Jeniffer is also survived by her father, Juan Antonio Abrego, her brother, Juan Jr. Abrego, and her sister, Elva Ramirez. She also held a special place in her heart for Jesus Salazar, the father of her children, and her loving partner whom she cared for dearly.

Sadly, Jeniffer is predeceased by her mother, Natalia Aurora Luengo, whose memory lives on in the hearts of her family.

As we celebrate the life of Jeniffer Arlene Abrego, let us remember her not only as a loving mother and grandmother but also as a beacon of strength and positivity. Her legacy will continue to be felt in the laughter of her grandchildren and in the memories shared by her family and friends. A visitation to honor her life will be held on January 16, 2026, from 1:00 PM to 4:00 PM at South - Puente & Sons Funeral Chapels in San Antonio, Texas. Let us gather together, remembering the extraordinary woman whose light shall never be extinguished.
