Herbert Donald "Don" Dobbins

Herbert Donald "Don" Dobbins, 77, of Brevard, NC, passed away on Friday, June 9, 2017 at Transylvania Regional Hospital. He was a son of the late Thomas Dobbins and Ella Owens Dobbins. In addition to his parents he was also preceded in death by his wife, Betsy, of 58 years. They were sweethearts since she was in the eighth grade, and they did most everything together. He was also preceded in death by his brother Claude Dobbins and his sister Nell Dobbins Horn. They enjoyed camping at Cade's Cove and watching nature and its wildlife around them. Much of his later enjoyment involved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mr. Dobbins' survivors include his children Michael "Mike" Dobbins and his wife Brenda, Amy Gwen Dobbins and Douglas "Doug" Dobbins and his wife Debbie; 7 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren. A Memorial Service for Herbert Dobbins will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, June 13, 2017 in the Chapel of Moore-Blanchard Funerals & Cremations with Rev. Tommy Pressler officiating.
