Herbert Harvey Dyer

His Legacy Herbert Harvey Dyer, 85, passed away September 19, 2022. He was born on December 12, 1936, in Pinckney, Michigan to Max Dyer and Helen (Packer) Dyer. Herbert married the love of his life, Joyce Granger, on September 5, 1964, in Howell, Michigan at the Howell Church of the Nazarene. Herbert was an avid outdoorsman; he loved camping in Hartland, he hunted deer and kept bird dogs for hunting many different types of fowl. He had "his chair" where he would watch educational shows to self-teach himself everything he wanted to learn about hunting or anything in nature. Herbert was first and foremost, a family man. He retired from Hoover NSK after 21 years to spend time with his grandchildren. Together they would sled, shoot BB guns, and do many other activities. He kept up a traditional monthly dinner with his cousins, and continued attending family events as long as he could. In addition, he and his wife Joyce enjoyed their snowbird trips to Florida every winter. Together, they also helped found the South-Western Church of the Nazarene, and they remained active there for many years. He will be greatly missed by all those whose lives he impacted.
His Family Herbert will be missed by his children, Tom Ferrett, Jim Ferrett, and Brenda Tasic; grandchildren, Thomas (Tiffany), James, Jared, John, Logan, and Hailey; great grandchildren, Audrey, Allson, Landon, and Kayden; and other family. He is preceded in death by his son Richard Ferrett, sister Vivian Dyer, and his parents, Max and Helen Dyer.
His Farewell Herbert's family and friends will gather Saturday, October 8, 2022, from 11AM-12PM, at Southwest Church of the Nazarene, 14555 Holmes Road, Gregory, MI. His Celebration of Life will follow at 12PM. Please join the family for a luncheon at the church after the service. Pastor Deborah Bain will serve as celebrant.
