Herbert Fleck Obituary
Born in Philadelphia, Herb was a graduate of Roman Catholic High School and went on to proudly serve in the United States Army during the Korean War.
He was a faithful and devoted Catholic who attended his beloved Saint William Parish at the noon mass each and everyday. Herb was devoted to prayer and took his last breath on earth while saying the rosary with his dear friends and parishioners of Saint Williams.
Herb was very patriotic and was proud to be an American.
He was an avid Philadelphia sports fan. He followed the Eagles but truly loved the Philadelphia Phillies and will be remembered for always singing "Take me out to the ballgame".
His family was his biggest joy. Although he never had children of his own, he adored all of his nieces and nephews tremendously.
He will be missed for his happy personality, caring ways and true devotion to his faith.
Herbert is pre-deceased by his parents Herbert and Marion Fleck and his beloved sister Adeline Volpe. His is survived by many nieces and nephews.
Relatives and friends are invited to his viewing, Thursday, October 5, 2023 from 8:45AM to 9:45AM in Saint William Church, 6200 North Rising Sun Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111. His funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00AM with his Interment and Military Honors following in Holy Sepulchre Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations to Saint Williams Church at the above address would be appreciated by his family.

I was truly blessed to know and to pray with Herb through the Rosary group, I looked forward to that special hour with Herb. He had such a great sense of humor and his smile lit up the church. I was amazed how he would always tell me that he was praying for some of my family and how he always remembered their names, despite the aches and pains he himself must have been suffering. He had such strong faith, I and I truly loved hearing his words of wisdom. I will miss surely miss Herb as many others will and I know his prayers for us will continue. God has blessed me through Herb...

I only had the privilege of meeting Herb after he was diagnosed with cancer. He was a lovely man who was devoted to Our Lord and Our Lady. I had the honor of visiting him 4 times. On 2 of those occasions, I sang for him: the Ave Maria and the Via Dolorosa. I´m so blessed to have known him, and I will continue to pray that he is in Heaven with his beloved Jesus and Mary. My condolences to his family.
