Herbert “Mike” Johnson, 75, of Odessa Texas, passed away on February 3rd, 2024, in Midland Texas.
Mike was born in Menard, Texas to Shirley Abernathy & Harland Johnson. He graduated from San Angelo Central High School. He married his soulmate Brenda (Staggs) Johnson on June 25th, 1971. Mike worked faithfully as a plant manager for Odessa Petrochemical Complex for 40 years. He was a veteran of Viet-Nam serving in the Marine Corp, and was awarded the Purple Heart, Sharp Rifle Shooter, Anti-Tank Assault man, and many more medals. Mike and Brenda were members of Crossroad Fellowship Church.
Mike is preceded in death by his mother Shirley (Abernathy) Pruitt and loving wife Brenda (Staggs) Johnson and son David Brown.
Mike is survived by his son Eric (Kimberly) Johnson. Sisters Jill (Powell) Weems of BoilingSpring PA, Teresa (Keith) Spraggins of Odessa TX, Laura (Bill) Jenkins of San Angelo and Arlene (Kenny) Neumeier of Russellville AR. Grandchildren Tabatha Merchen, Tyler Johnson and Travis Johnson. Great-Grandchildren Marilyn and Corey South all of Odessa TX.
Memorials and donations may be given to the Alzheimer's Association of America.
