Obituary published on Legacy.com by Labby Memorial Funeral Home - Leesville on Nov. 25, 2025.
"Billy" Herbert Lewis Jr., was born on September 17, 1940 in
Leesville, Louisiana to William Lewis Sr., and Mable Broadway Lewis. He passed away on November 22, 2025 in Anacoco, Louisiana.
Billy Lewis was the very proud and successful owner of Billy's Barber Shop. His barbering journey began in 1960 and he retired in 2023. Throughout those 63 years, he treasured every moment working alongside his son Trey Lewis, late brother Phil Lewis, sister Cricket Watkins, cousin Joey Foley and dear friends Luis Santos, Charles Brooks, Ronda Dixon and Gary Dowden. Mr. Billy operated and maintained his business by virtue of honesty, fairness and integrity. He has cut at least 4 generations of hair and knew everyone who walked through his doors by their name (or nickname, if he had one for you).
He had many hobbies and interests throughout his life. He loved his soap box derby races (4 generations of Lewis's participated), collecting antique cars (Ann has lost count), and listening to music (some of which he personally recorded).
He had an enormous and sacrificial love for his family and friends. But it was the devotion to his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and East Leesville Baptist Church that defined Mr. Billy and provided him with the true fulfillment his heart desired. A compassionate, talented, funny, infectious and honorable man…A Husband, Daddy, Pop, Brother, Uncle, Nephew, Cousin, Friend, Barber and Christian. We will sorely miss you, but we will forever aspire to be just like you!
Those we love are with the Lord, and the Lord has promised to be with us. 'Behold, I am with you always.' If our loved ones are with HIM and HE is with us, they cannot be far away.
Matthew 28:20
