Herbert D. Olsen

Herb helped me a great deal raising chickens. If I needed anything he WAS right there. I miss you my friend.

Herb, you were one of the very BEST teachers at North Brunswick H.S.
Why? Because your heart guided you as you assisted students in many ways, teacher, counselor, friend.
I remember one incident, in particular, when a student wanted to be in my class. You thought it was not in her best interests because of my reputation as a demanding teacher, but she was persistent.
You came to talk with me. I told her I would take good care of her. I did, not by lowering my standards, but by teaching her new skills. She succeeded and thanked me many times, even after she graduated,
That would not have happened without HERB OLSEN.

I also loved going to your farm market and purchasing the freshest crops from your garden.

Condolences Naomi and family, just heard of Herb´s passing. He was a wonderful man and colleague. He always put a smile on my face with his humor and his contagious smile. Our thoughts and prayers are with you and your family.

Naomi, we have so many fond memories of Herbie from high school and were so glad that we got to see the two of you at the 2015 reunion. We are so sorry for your loss...treasure all of the happy years that you shared. Love, Rich and Nancy (Weck) Chlan.

As a friend of Kara´s at Mary Baldwin College in Virginia, I had the pleasure of getting to know Herb and Naomi at various events, including most memorably, Junior Dads, where the table erupted in laughter every few minutes after one of the "dad jokes" Herb and my dad decided were "appropriate" for the formal event. Although many miles separated us, we were able to get together from time to time and were so grateful for the "Olsen hospitality" when we visited their beautiful home. What wonderful people who loved each other and their family so much! Our hearts and prayers go out to you, Naomi, Kara, and the rest of the family. As you move forward, I hope your warmest memories will help to ease your grief and bring you comfort.

Herb was a huge part of every day life at my shop
Everyone loved him
His job was to get coffe every day
Herb would drive around my home and shops like our own personal security gaurd.
Thus was a going away party Herb attended
We will miss him dearly

Herbie, I miss you. Herbie, was not only a neighbor; but, also a very good friend. He stays home all the time; so, when we go on trips, he would say don´t worry Praful, I´ll watch the house and he does a great job. Then when we return, he would tell me in detail, what happened during that week. Anyway, I lost a great friend. May God Bless his Soul! RIP, Herbie!
