Obituary of Herbert Pollard III
Herbert A. "Herb" Pollard III, a long-time resident of Fort Myers, Florida died peacefully on Sunday, December 3, 2023 after a long courageous battle with Parkinson's disease and ultimately cancer. He was born on April 16, 1952 to the late Helen C. and Herbert A. Pollard Jr. in Winter Haven, FL.
Herb grew up in Winter Haven, FL and had a deep love for hunting, fishing, boating, water skiing, music and golf. Herb married Holly and they moved to Germany where he served in the Army. Upon returning from Germany, Herb earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a Minor in Citrus at Florida Southern College. Like his grandfather and father, he worked in the Citrus industry for many years and later founded Florida Citrus Service where his entrepreneurial spirit and love of the art of business blossomed. Herb loved his family but loved being a dad and grandfather most of all. His mischievous grin and his great sense of humor will be missed by his family and friends.
Herb is survived by his wife of 52 years, Holly H. Pollard of Fort Myers, FL; two children, Herbert A. "Hap" Pollard IV and wife Brooke W. Pollard of Short Hills, NJ; and Adam C. Pollard of Fort Myers, FL; two grandchildren, Grayson B. "Gray" Pollard and Parker R. Pollard; his brother, Arthur G. "Buzzy" Pollard (Beth); his sister, Martha P. "Marty" Bentley (Bob); brother in law, George Hutchinson (Judy); along with many nieces, nephews and good friends.
A gathering will be held at Oak Ridge Funeral Care 2425 Havendale Blvd. Winter Haven, Florida on Saturday, December 9, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. followed by a Celebration of Life service at 11:00 a.m.
