Herbert G. Roach, 95, of Odon, IN passed away May 10, 2025. He was born in Vincennes, IN on February 4, 1930, to the late Raymond W. and Anna P. (Taylor) Roach. Herbert attended Lincoln High School and graduated in the 1948 class. He married the love of his life, Loretta Jones, on November 26, 1950, and they were blessed with 74 years together. Herbert proudly served his country in the United State Navy for 20 years. Herbert also worked as an Industrial Tech for Crane Naval Base for many years. He was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, VFW, and was a Past Master of the Vincennes Masonic Lodge #1. Herbert also is a Past Grand Commander, Indiana Knights Templar, Knight of York Cross of Honor, an honorary Kentucky Colonel, and lifetime NRA member.
In his early years he enjoyed traveling with his family, hunting, fishing, and spending time at the Vincennes Gun Club. Herbert was a Master Referee for the ATA in San Antonio and the NSSA for both skeet and trap shooting. In his later years, Herbert enjoyed genealogy, solving crossword puzzles, and reading. He will be deeply missed by all.
He is preceded in death by his parents Raymond and Anna Roach; granddaughter Bobbie Jo Jones; daughter in law Sherron Roach; siblings Raymond Roach Jr., Betty Lett, Donald Roach, Verda Robinson, and Alfred Roach.
Herbert is survived by his wife Loretta Roach; children Mike (Susie) Roach, Dale (Ramona) Roach, Debbie (Tim) Gunnoe; grandchildren Season (Kevin) Stalcup, Nathan (Crystal) Roach, Chad (Meredith) Roach, Sean (Katrina) Roach, Mandy (TJ) Price; 10 great-grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and friends.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Roach. Visitation will be held Sunday, May 18, 2025, from 2-6 pm with a Masonic Service beginning at 6 pm at 524 Broadway Street and Monday, May 19, 2025, from 10 am to service time. The funeral service will begin promptly at 11 am with burial at Memorial Park following immediately with Military Honors.
Memorial donations can be made to the Knight's Templar Eye Foundation at 8611 N. 700 W. Fountaintown, IN 46130 in honor of Herbert.
