Herbert Leverne Ropp, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and friend, entered into his heavenly home on April 18, 2025 at the age of 85. He was born on October 6, 1939, to Anna and Walter Ropp Jr. in Deer Creek, Oklahoma, where he was raised as the eldest of eight children.
Herbert was a devoted son and brother, cherished by his siblings—Bart, Bufford, Tuney, Mamie, and Virgil. He was a loving husband to Peggy Ropp, with whom he shared a lifetime of memories, and a proud father to Perri Jackson, Susan Button, Tim Barnes, and Steve Ropp.
Known as "Pampaw" to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, Herbert's legacy lives on in the hearts of his loved ones. He was a man of strong faith, unwavering devotion to his family, and immense courage, always willing to help those in need.
Herbert was a proud graduate of Deer Creek High School and Enid Business College. He built a successful career as a welding business owner, steel construction worker, oilfield man, and truck driver. His work ethic was unmatched, and he was never afraid to tackle any challenge, always focused on providing for his family.
A lifelong lover of the outdoors, Herbert was an avid hunter and fisherman. Whether it was deer, coyotes, or fishing for any and all kinds of fish, he was happiest when he was outdoors, surrounded by nature. His love for the land and the quiet of the wilderness stayed with him throughout his life.
Herbert was a man who never met a stranger. He was a friend to all, a helper to the needy, and a constant source of strength and support to those who knew him. His kindness, strength, and devotion will be missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
A funeral service will be held at Bartlesville Southern Baptist Church on Saturday, April 26, 2025, at 11:00 am and burial will be at Oak Hill Cemetery in Siloam Springs, AR.
