Herbert Scantling Obituary
Herbert Lee Scantling, age 92, of Caddo Gap, passed away on Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
He was born on June 7, 1933 in Evening Shade. He was the son of Ivy and Francis Scantling. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Geneva Lucille Scantling; his son, Brian Scantling; his sister, Gladys Scantling; his brother, Dean Scantling; and his step-brother, Harley Harmon.
Herbert was Christian in his faith. He enjoyed fishing. He would seek peace on his mountain to think and talk to the Lord. Most of all he loved being Papaw to his grandchildren. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
He is survived by his daughter, Tracy Scantling of Caddo Gapp; his granddaughter, Lacie Scantling; his two great-grandchildren, Fagyan and Mattley; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members and a host of wonderful friends.
Burial arrangements will be held under the direction of Smith Family Funeral Home- Glenwood.
