Herbert Ray Sherbert

Herbert Ray Sherbert, 70, of Campobello, SC, passed away Monday, March 1, 2021, at his residence. Ray was born in Spartanburg, SC on October 26, 1950, a son of the late Ethel (Greene) and Marion Barto Sherbert and was the husband of Jackie Riley Sherbert having celebrated 49 years of marriage. He was a member of Walnut Hill Baptist Church and the Men's #2 Sunday School Class. Ray enjoyed a number of mission trips to Dominican Republic and Germany with Carpenters for Christ. In addition to his wife Jackie, he is also survived by two daughters, Jayna Rae Sherbert and Rebecca Elane Atkinson (Daniel) and very special son-in-law, Roy Atkinson; his twin sister, Faye Sherbert Rigsby and her husband Mike; two brother-in-laws, Tommy Broome and Jimmy (JR) Riley and his wife Debbie; sister-in-law, Mickie Holden; five grandchildren, Lucas Ray Sherbert, Dakota Ray Sherbert, Jayden Ray Sherbert, Alexandria Bryan Cothran and KyLee Raylan Roger; many nieces and nephews and three fur babies, Buddy, Gizmo and Tank. He was predeceased by one sister, Marlyn, Sherbert Broome. The family will receive friends from 1:00 - 1:45 PM on Saturday, March 6, 2021 at Seawright Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 PM in the Seawright Funeral Home Chapel in Inman, SC with Rev. Scott Lewellen and Rev. Gary Hensley officiating. Serving as pallbearers will be, Lucas Sherbert, Dakota Sherbert, Jayden Sherbert, Chandler Riley, Logan Riley and Michael Ridenour. Due to Covid-19, the family request that those attending adhere to mask and distancing guidelines. Family thanks his daughter, Jayna Rae for all of the special care given to her daddy. Thank you to Kindred and Agape Hospice assistants that assisted during his illness.
