Herbert Ray Speights

Herbert Speights 69, of Beaumont, TX; departed this earthly life and entered eternal rest on December 31, 2025.

Services are Saturday, Jan. 10, 2026, First Baptist 1115 3rd St. Nome, TX. Visitation will begin at 10AM until Funeral at 11AM.

Herbert Ray Speights, affectionately known as "Herb," was born on November 4, 1956, in Anahuac, Texas, to Herbert Ray Bethel and Oria Lean Thibodeaux.

He was truly loved and cherished by many. At an early age, Mr. Speights accepted Christ as his personal Savior, and his faith remained a guiding force throughout his life. He was a man of quiet strength, integrity, and compassion whose presence brought comfort and encouragement to all who knew him.

Mr. Speights was a devoted husband, sharing 29 blessed years of marriage to Charlene Speights, his loving and devoted wife. He was a faithful father, a proud and gentle grandfather, and a loyal friend. He valued family and believed strongly in hard work. Throughout his life, he was employed by Ameri Glass, Magic Carwash, and Jay Long Crawfish, and he was also an entrepreneur, operating Herb Lawn Service, where his dedication and strong work ethic were evident to all.

He was preceded in death by his beloved mother, Oria Lean Thibodeaux, and his brother, James Matt Thibodeaux.

He leaves to cherish his memory his devoted wife, Charlene Speights; his loving children, Keya Bethel, Chelsea Speights, Kelsey Speights, Lance Speights, Bonus Children-(Dana Jones, Kayla Kelly, Shawn Prudhomme, Derren Jones, and Terry Prudhomme); his cherished grandchildren, Shirmalyn, Tron, and Brycen; his siblings: Ora Brown, Jan Nell (Knolly Gerard), Melinda, Felix, and Russell (Janice); and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
