I just heard of Herbie´s passing and wanted to extend my deepest sympathy! He was such a good man and will be truly missed.

My first memory of Herb date back 55 years ago when he was directing Christmas traffic at High & Pine in the pouring rain...I handed him a warm cup of coffee as I passed by and from that day forward we were friends. He took pride in being considered stern and grumpy, but under that facade he was a wonderfully kind and considerate gentleman with a marvelous singing voice. May he rest in peace in that rocking chair he always teased me about. My deepest condolences to Barb and his family. ~~ Jan Thomas

I have fond memories of singning with Herb in the Cumberlads. Great times and memories.

I was saddened to learn of Herbs death.
He was one of the GOOD GUYS, and was respected by Paul and all the other officers he served with.
It will take a while to get used to your new role as a widow ( I'm still working on it after almost 15 years!), but you are in my thoughts and prayers, and those of many others.
