Herbert Wright Obituary
Mr. Herbert Lee Wright, 47, of Roanoke Rapids, North Carolina, and son of the late Herbert Lee Wright and Dorothy L. Wright, was born on February 15, 1977 in Berkeley, California.
Herb, as he was fondly called, received his formal education through the public schools in Alameda, California. He graduated in 1996.
At an early age, Herb was baptized at Praise Temple Missionary Baptist Church, until relocating to North Carolina in 1996.
Herb enjoyed bowling and basketball with AAU travel teams. He also loved listening to music and riding his moped.
On Saturday, July 14, 2024, Herb reunited with his father, maternal and paternal grandparents, as well as, uncles and aunts.
Those left to cherish Herb's memories are his mother: Dorothy L. Wright; his brother: Steven T. Wright of Roanoke Rapids, NC; a sister: Nicole Wright of Vallejo, CA; two uncles: Johnny Lashley and Alfred Wright, both of Roanoke Rapids, NC; three aunts: Louise (Hamilton) Darden of Pleasant Hill, NC, Gwen of Maryland ad Tammy of Roanoke Rapids, NC; and a host of cousins and friends.
Funeral Services for Mr. Herbert Lee Wright, Jr., will be held on Wednesday, July 24, 2024, beginning at 11:00 A.M. at the Chapel of H D Pope Funeral Home, located at 520 Smith Church Road, Roanoke Rapids, NC 27870.

Dorothy, I just found out around 5:30 today about Herbert. I´m so,so sorry. I truly don´t know what to say. You have so much faith that I know you will be able to deal with it, because you are also a strong woman. I am going to call you. Hang in there. You have been on my mind for a couple of weeks. I sent u an email last week, but it was not sent. I Evidentally don´t know what I´m doing.. Take it one day at a time. Try to relax. Luv you, Jackie

My cousin was a joy to have in our family growing up they use to fly in from California. Lol and my dear cousin will be missed. He used to love Incredible Hulk. I love you cousin. Auntie we are here for you always.
