Herman Joseph Gobert

Herman Joseph Gobert was born August 7, 1956, in Lake Charles, Louisiana to the late Clemon and Mary Jane Gobert. A lifelong resident of Lake Charles, he was a member of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church. He loved to read, listen to French music, and loved people. Herman departed this life Sunday, January 12, 2025, in a local hospital. He leaves to cherish his memories, five sisters, Marie (John) Larche, Wanda (Eddie) Coleman, Brenda (Joe) Wright, JoAnn Gobert, and Mary (Donald) Smith; one brother, Paul (Freda) Gobert; five children, Herman Joseph Alexander, Ladaisha Rochelle Alexander, Arlonzo Louis Alexander, Anthony Quinn VanDyke, and Jamaker (Amber) Deshotel; seven grandchildren ; longtime companion, Stephanie Robertson and a multitude of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Herman was preceded in death by his parents, Clemon and Mary Jane Gobert; two sisters, Mildren (August W.) LeBlanc and Magdalene (Abner James) McNeal; and two brothers, Willis (Leona) Gobert and Curly (Beatrice) Gobert. His visitation will be Saturday, January 25, 2025, from 9AM with his funeral following at 11AM, at James Funeral Home located at 1801 Moeling Street in Lake Charles. Burial will be in Sacred Heart Cemetery.
