Herman Martin “Sonny” Heien, 85, of Stuttgart passed away Monday, Feb. 17, 2025, at Baptist Health-Little Rock.
Sonny was born Sept. 14, 1939, in Stuttgart to Herman and Lois Langford Heien. He was a farmer and member of St. John’s Lutheran Church, Fairmount Ruritan for 33 years, Army National Guard and Woodman of the World organization. He was also a Stuttgart Fire Department volunteer for 40 years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Schwartz Heien; and sisters, Loretta Langrehr, Katherine Givens and Bobbie Jean Robbins.
Survivors are sons, Richard Heien and Wayne Heien of Stuttgart; special friend for several years, Peggy Hollanger of Stuttgart; sister, Betty Coose of Stuttgart; grandchildren, April (Paul) Rogers, Natalie (Brock) Gresham and Matthew Heien; and eight great-grandchildren.
Funeral services are 11 a.m. Saturday, Feb. 22, at St. John’s Lutheran Church with burial following in Lone Tree Cemetery.
Visitation is 5-7 p.m. Friday at Turpin Funeral Home.
Memorials may be made to St. John’s Lutheran Church or the donor’s choice.
