Herman Loy “Junior” Kesner, Jr., age 83 of Moorefield, WV, passed away Friday evening, May 9, 2025, at his residence with his loving family at his side. Born on September 10, 1941, at Dorcas, Grant County, WV, he was a son of the late Herman Loy Kesner and Elva Arvell Sites Kesner Borror. He was also preceded in death by a son, Bruce Kesner, a sister and a brother. He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Petersburg.
He was a familiar face in the community, dedicated to his work as a general contractor, and he continued to share his skills even after retirement. His love for the outdoors was evident in his passion for hunting and golfing—memories made at the Valley View Golf Club will forever hold a special place in the hearts of those who shared those days with him. Junior was not just a father; he was a cheerleader for his grandchildren, faithfully attending their events and celebrating each milestone.
Junior was not just a name but a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his wife, Linda Kay Kile Kesner, a son, Loy D. Kesner, and daughter, Donna M. Riggleman. He was also blessed with a wide circle of family, brothers Jesse L. Kesner, “Dick” Borror & Robert M. Borror; sisters, Catherine McGinley, Bonnie L. Schilling, Darlene Rohrbaugh & Marlene E. Alexander; eight grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, May 15, 2025, at 2:00 PM at the Fraley Funeral Home Chapel, located at 107 Washington Street.
