Herman Ray Locklear of Rowland was born in Scotland County on Thursday, April 28, 1966 and departed this life on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at Atrium Health Hospital.

He was preceded in death by his mother Adelene Locklear, his brother: Chris Scott, and his sister: Edna Locklear, one nephew: Jonathan Thomas, one niece: Samantha Locklear; one great niece La'Riyah Jacobs.

Mr. Herman is survived by his father: Herman Locklear of Maxton, his children: Amelia Scott of Maxton, Franchesca Locklear of Pembroke, Makayla Jacobs (Aaron) of Rowland and Petra Adams (Jamar) of Pembroke; one brother: Bill Locklear; two sisters: Lena Locklear and Adell Locklear all of Maxton: five grandchildren: Casey Scott, Kayleigh Branch, Logan Scott, Kyler Jacobs, Aaryla Jacobs; and a host of relatives and friends.

He was a jack of all trades and a man who could do just about anything with his hand and heart wheather it was fixing something or helping someone, or just figuring out a way to get things done, he always found a way. He loved the peace and quiet of fishing, where he could relax and enjoy the simple things of life. but more than anything he loved his girls. They were his greatest joy, his proudest accomplishments and the reason behind every smile. His love for them was endless and that love will live on and one forever in their hearts.

Funeral Service will be 4:00 PM Monday, August 18, 2025 at Elrod Baptist Church, Burial following in the Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM Monday, August 18, 2025 at Elrod Baptist Church
Service entrusted to Boles Funeral Home in Red Springs.
