Herman Henry Ohlenbusch peacefully passed away on Friday, February 27, 2026, at the age of 93. Born to Henry Dietrich and Viola Jane Meyer Ohlenbusch in Wastella, Texas, he was the eldest of four siblings.
Herman graduated from Sweetwater High School and continued his education at Texas Lutheran College in Seguin, where he earned a Bachelor of Business Administration degree. After completing his studies, he served honorably in the United States Navy. During this time, he rekindled his connection with Texas Lutheran College, where he met the love of his life, Doris Weiss. The couple married in 1956.
In 1957, Herman and Doris relocated to Kingsville, Texas, where he became the owner of Kingsville Laundry & Cleaners. He dedicated many years to running the family business, while also engaging in various entrepreneurial ventures involving leasing business properties. A prominent member of his community, he contributed to the Kingsville Lions Club and served with pride in the Kingsville Volunteer Fire Department. His strong faith led him to be a longstanding member of Trinity Lutheran Church, later becoming affiliated with St. Paul Lutheran Church.
Herman is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Doris; their daughter, Dana Neumann; their infant son, Paul; his parents, Henry and Viola Ohlenbusch; and twin brothers, Frank and George Ohlenbusch.
