Herman C. Powell, 80, of Greensburg, left this earthly home to be in his heavenly home on Monday, December 8, 2025, at Aspen Place Health Campus. He was born on August 6, 1945, in Black Diamond, Tennessee the son of Dewey D. and Marion (Elzick) Powell. He was a lifelong resident of Decatur County and attended Ignite Church in Batesville. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, chopping wood, playing Canasta, and watching westerns. He loved watching the Indianapolis Colts and loved his coffee that he drank from an A & W mug. He married Kay N. Hall on December 15, 1989, and she preceded him in death on April 16, 2003. He then married Suzanne E. Barnard on December 17, 2003, at Stone Chapel in Greensburg and she survives. Other survivors include his daughters, Theresa (Jim) Warner, Lori (Chuck) Adams and Lisa (Grant) Hollin; his sons, Brett (Debra) Burton, Tanner (Rena) Burton and David (Eva) Burton; a sister, Fay Tichenor; 10 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his 1st wife, Kay; 3 sisters, Sarah Ellen Moore, Ruby Louise Davis, Linda Belle Ward and a brother, Elmer D. Powell. Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 13, 2025, at Bass & Gasper Funeral Home in Westport with Pastor Terry Allen officiating. A time of visitation will be held on Saturday, December 13, from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to assist with funeral expenses through the funeral home.
