Herman P Spera Jr

New Port Richey - Herman went to the big dance floor in the sky on Saturday, October 18th. He was 91 years old. He was an Air Force Veteran and also enjoyed a long 35+ year career at IBM in many locations, spending his last 26 years at IBM Endicott. He enjoyed his work and career at IBM. Once 'retired' he started his second career as a builder of homes and a constructor of many closet storage systems with his best friend, Dale Harrison. He enjoyed many things in addition to Dancing; giving advice, woodworking, fixing cars, bowling, golfing, planning and completing home projects, and painting-Not! He took great pride in what his family was doing and always had words of encouragement and wisdom to share. He was predeceased by his parents, Mary (Dassing) and Herman Spera, his siblings Dolly (Jimmy) Kinsella, Dolores(Ray)Smith, Arlene (Ed)Driscoll, and Bobby Alegre. He is survived by his first wife, Josephine Fornino, and his second wife, Sue Pabst Spera. He is also survived by his children, Gail Spera and Sharon (Dennis) Tchir, and Herman Sonny (Angela) Spera, his stepdaughter, Tegan (Dave) Marks, and her son, Elijiah Edgington. He also leaves behind grandchildren Dennis "DJ" (Leah) Tchir, Danielle (Johnny) Kappel, Stephanie (Marcelo) Molina, Marcus (Anne) Spera, Erica, and Carla Spera, and his great-grandchildren Ava and Stella Kappel, and Maxwell and Mariana Molina. He had numerous close nieces and nephews on all sides of the family. Our family wishes to thank everyone who supported Dad in his final years. Travel safely and enjoy dancing again with your mom and your siblings, Dad. The family will receive friends and neighbors on Saturday, November 22nd, 10-11:30 at Our Lady of Good Counsel at 701 W Main st Endicott NY 13760 with a Funeral Mass to follow.
