Hermann Vogt, age 82, passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 5, 2025 at Serenity Hospice and Home in Oregon. He was born in Wetter (Ruhr) on August 4, 1942 the son and only child of Kranfüher Vogt and Edith (Kruse) Jasinskas. He was raised in Germany until coming to America in 1956. He then became a United State Citizen. He was known for being a hard worker who also lived life to the fullest. He retired from Elco Tool as a header operator, at one time an owner of the Die Saufen Haus Tavern in German Valley. He had many hobbies some were golfing, darts, shooting pool, bowling, and being an avid coin collector. He took pride in everything he did. He was very proud to be an American and viewed America as the land of opportunity. His favorite saying was… “You can do anything as long as you put your mind to it” My dad taught me about life hard lessons to know. That not every person has a perfect childhood and freedom isn’t free. That war has lasting consequences on the people it hurt. He taught me to be a fighter and a leader. He also taught me who to trust and who not too because not all people will have your back. He valued a dollar and believed you must work hard for it; that nothing in life is free or given. Then there is karma…He taught me a lot about that. He believed what good you put out will come back to you. He also believed in patience. Growing up I heard it a lot “Patience is a virtue Rhonda” Still learning that one… Lastly he always said… “Honey life isn’t always fair to you, life is what you make it.” Love, your “Porkchop” Rhonda. He is preceded in death by his parents, stepfather Kazys Jasinskas. He is survived and missed by his daughter, Rhonda (Jon) Book of Byron; granddaughters, Brittney Book of Madsion, WI and Rachel (Riley) Lorden of Byron; and great grandchild, Kane Lorden.
The family of Hermann Vogt wishes to extend our sincere thanks to all of his health care team from Serenity when he was at home and at the facility in Oregon. No public services will be held and a private celebration of his life will be held with his immediate family at a later date.
