Hermilo Cruz Obituary

Hermilo Cruz, Jr. was born on July 25, 1935 in San Antonio, Texas. He passed away on December 13, 2025, at the age of 90.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 38 years. He had four sons; Steve Cruz (D), Carlos Cruz (D), Abel Cruz, & Ernest Cruz; and three stepchildren Sylvia Garza, Dedorah Rodriguez, and Joe R Sarro. Fifteen grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
He was a graduate of San Antonio Vocational and technical High School and received an associate's degree from St. Pillips College.
He was a member of Alzfar Shrine Bands, Al Gomez Dance Band and San Antonio Community Band. He was a Past Patron of Prospect Hill Chapter #817 affiliated with Alamo Chapter #734 Order of the Eastern Star. He was a past Worshipful Master of Prospect Hill Lodge #1247 affiliated with Army Lodge #1105. Has held a certificate on Esoteric Work from The Grand Lodge of Texas since 1983. He's an endowed member of several other Masonic Fraternities. His hobbies were traveling, hunting with Abel, and watching sports on TV.
The family wishes to extend a huge thank you to the staff at The Mission Nursing Home and Hospice Care at Blue Skies of Texas for his excellent care.
Services will be held at St. Paul Catholic church on 350 Sutton Dr., San Antonio, TX 78228 January 2nd, 2025. The Rosary will begin at 9:30 AM followed by a Funeral Mass at 10:00 AM; family and friends are welcome to arrive at 9:00 AM for a short visitation. A procession to Ft. Sam Houston National Cemetery will follow for a 2:15 PM Graveside Service. For more information, please visit www.MissionParks.com
