Hershell Lowe Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Willow Funeral Home, LLC on Jan. 31, 2026.
Ronnie Hershell "Pode" Lowe, age 79, a resident of Willow Springs passed away Friday, January 30th, 2026, at his home. He was born March 7, 1946 to Hobert Lowe and Ruby (Green) Lowe in Willow Springs, MO.

Hershell worked many different jobs in and around the Willow Springs area in his lifetime, but his favorite job was building fence. He built pipe and barbed-wire fence in numerous areas throughout southern Missouri. Many farmers and ranchers sought Hershell out because everyone knew what a good job he would do. Hershell "Pode" was married to his wife, Jannes (Goodwin) Lowe for 36 years, and he was stepfather to Laurie. In addition, he was stepgrandfather or "Gramps" to three grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, and he always enjoyed teasing them and playing with them when they were around him and "Gigi Jan".

Hershell was preceded in death by his parents, Hobert and Ruby Lowe; his wife, Jannes; brothers, Lonal, Troy, Roy, Donnie "Sharkey", and Jackie Lowe as well as sisters, Wilma Rosetta and Lila Rosalee Lowe.

Hershell is survived by his stepdaughter, Laurie (Buddy) Essary; siblings, Ovene Lowe, Lonnie (Tillie) Lowe, Bonnie (Randy) Wood, Floyd (Kathy) Lowe; Sisters-In-Law, Jeannie Lowe, Marilyn Weaver, and Lorene Lowe all of Willow Springs. He is further survived by his three grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, as well as many nephews, nieces, and cousins.

Hershell will be remembered for his tough work ethic, his love for his family and friends, his dogs, cows, donkeys, and ALL animals in general, and for his HORRIBLE PARKING HABITS everywhere he went!

A graveside service for "Pode" will be held at 2:00 PM, Monday, February 2, 2026, at the Pine Grove Cemetery in Willow Springs, MO. Arrangements are under the direction of Willow Funeral Home, LLC. Online condolences may be left at www.willowspringsfuneralhome.com
