Funeral for Hershell Smith, 81, of Trinity will be Sunday, June 8, 2014, at 3 p.m. at Halsey Chapel First Apostolic Church with Bro. Kevin Smith and Bro. Fred "Chip" Shepard officiating and Lawrence Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in East Lawrence Memorial Garden. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the church.

Mr. Smith, who died Friday, June 6, 2014, at NHC Healthcare in Moulton was born April 21, 1933, in Lawrence County to Atwell Smith and Viola Yarbrough Smith. He was a millwright at Siginaw/Delphi. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mildred Sparks Smith; his parents; son, Phillip Smith; grandson, Todd Parker Starks; and one brother and sister.

Survivors include sons, Carl Smith (Judy), Kenny Smith (Kim), Kevin Smith (Debra); daughter, Wanda Starks (Glen); brothers, Ed Smith, Charles Smith; sisters, Orlean Jones, Dorothy Freeman, Faye Wallace, Eloise Kindt; grandsons, Brad Smith, Jeremiah Smith; granddaughters, Stephanie Proctor, Kellie Proctor, Felicia Burton, Jennifer Smith, Tiffany Smith and ten great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Jeremiah Smith, Preston Proctor, Brayden Proctor, Brian Proctor, Hunter Proctor, Glen Starks and Jonathan Burton.
