Herta Marie Thomas

Herta M. Thomas (Rollinghoff), 86 of Keyser, WV passed and crossed over on Monday, January 12th, 2025. Born May 11th, 1939, to the late Carl P. and Emma (Menzel) Rollinghoff in their home in Westville, NJ.
She worked for Our Lady Hospital, Stanley Home Products and Sarah Coventry while being a homemaker and wife undertaking any jobs she could to help make ends meet. In 1974 Herta moved with her family to Treasure Island, FL where she spent nearly 40 years of her life. In this time span she worked in Janotorial Service, was a Tupperware consultant, offered fresh baked goods and handmade crafts from her home, and operated an in-home daycare. In 2012 she relocated to Keyser, WV to be near family and where she would live until her recent death.
Herta was a beautiful light in this world. She was creative, humorous, and loving. She adored children and relished being everyone's Granny. She loved giving hugs to everyone she'd encounter and never met a stranger
She enjoyed simple shopping trips to Walmart which to her was her opportunity to be social and make new friends. She was an avid reader and gardener and was always thirsty for knowledge of new and exciting ways to use her creativity.
She was preceded in death by both of her parents, sisters Lillian Warren (McLean), Carol Daisey (Rollinghoff), and Emma James (Rollinghoff) and a brother Carl F. Rollinghoff, along with her son in law D. Craig Courtney.
Surviving is a sister, Mary Rollinghoff, 5 children Herta Tillman (Thomas), Yevette Courtney (Thomas), Ralph E. Hahn, Carol L. Bromwell (Hahn) and Mary E. Hahn, 13 Grandchildren Jesse Thomas, Brian Grubbs, Ashley Barker, Olivia Courtney, Jacquelyn Blaney, David Courtney, Adalyssa Courtney, Eric Hahn, Michael Hahn, Collin Hahn, Devon Hahn, William Anthony Hahn, Zain LeDoux, 2 adopted Grand Daughters Brianna Dobbs and Amethyst Keys, and 10 Great Grand Children Delilah Pancake, Lillian Pancake, Leah Barker, Laydon Dobbs, Arianna Courtney, Bennett Dobbs, Finley Grubbs, Easton Hahn and Jamesen Stimmetz as well as many beloved friends that she considered family. Her "squanches" will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege to know her love.
Following her wishes, Herta will be cremated and there will be a celebration of life dinner at a later date.
