Mrs. Hester Louise Bowen

Mrs. Hester Melton Bowen, 79, of Shelby, born in Rutherford County, went to be with her Lord on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Hospice at Wendover. She was a retired textile worker and a member of Beaver Dam Baptist Church where she was a former nursery worker. She was preceded in death by her parents, Paul Melton and Macie Melton Melton; husband, Dwight Bowen; son-in-law, John Thornton; brothers, Bill Melton and Kenneth Melton; and sister, Doris Davis. She is survived by her daughters, Cindy Campos and Mel, and Gail Thornton, all of Boiling Springs; her sisters, Mary Stallings of Golden Valley, and Shirley Bowen & Bobby of Shelby; grandchildren, T. J. Thornton of Boiling Springs, MeLani Campos, and Mindy Campos, both of Wilmington; and one great-grandchild, Izaiah Campos.
