Hester N. Ford

Hester Nelson Ford, beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother, passed away peacefully in her sleep on October 5th 2025 just days after joyfully celebrating her 96th birthday surrounded by her children. Born on September 24, 1929, in Youngstown, Ohio, to Robert and Theresa Nelson, Hester lived a vibrant and fulfilling life marked by love, family, and dedication to the arts. In 1950, Hester married Edward Ford, and together they raised a beautiful family of eight children: Dorothy Johnson, Terry Ford, John Ford, Nelson Ford, Mary Ellen Kuhn, Joseph Ford, Thomas Ford, and Luke Ford. Hester's heart overflowed with pride for her nearly two dozen grandchildren and over a dozen great-grandchildren, on whom she left an indelible mark with her boundless love and nurturing spirit. Beyond her devotion to family, Hester was an enterprising woman with a passion for the arts. She served as a Docent at the Phoenix Art Museum, sharing her enthusiasm for creativity, and later founded Poster's Mostly, a business she ran alongside her daughter Dorothy and son Thomas for over 40 years. Her entrepreneurial spirit and love for art touched countless lives. Hester is now reunited in Heaven with her beloved husband, Edward Ford, her daughter Terry Ford, and her grandchildren Michael Ford, Haley Ford, and Ryan Matt, who preceded her in passing. Her legacy of love, creativity, and family endures in the hearts of all who knew her. A memorial service will held at 1:30pm at St Bernadette Roman Catholic Parish located at 16245 N. 60th Street, Arizona 85254.
