Hilburn Daniel (Danny) Carter, 74, passed away on Friday, Nov. 14, 2025 in Richmond, Virginia. Danny was born May 1, 1951, in Rocky Mount to the late Helen Holmes Johnson and the late Daniel Washington Carter. He worked for over 30 years for KBS Construction in Richmond.
He is survived by his daughter, Bekki (Zach) Wintgens; granddaughters, Keelyn (James) Lucas, Kassidy Lucas; and grandson, Kendall Lent; great-grandchildren, Koen, Krew, and Capria, all of Newark, Ohio; sisters, Elaine Brown of Wilmington, Brenda (John) Humphreys of Brevard, and Crystal Gabric of Aberdeen; niece, Carter (Jerry) Brown of Wilmington, and their two children; and life partner, Jeanette Jones.
In addition to his parents, Danny is preceded in death by his brothers-in-law William Brown II, and Rodney (Gabe) Gabric. A private family memorial will be held at a later date.
