Our hearts are heavy as we say goodbye to a woman of extraordinary grace, beauty, and unwavering faith. Hilda Maria Inacio Cordero Haucke, 85, passed away peacefully on February 22, 2025, surrounded by her children Brigit, James, and Sandy. She was reunited in heaven with her beloved husband, Stuart, eldest daughter, Linda, and youngest daughter, Mary Ethel.
Born and raised a devout Catholic to Jose and Maria Raposo in São Miguel, Azores, Portugal—a place she spoke of with fondness—Hilda married the love of her life, Stuart Haucke, at 15 and cherished their legendary love until his passing. Always impeccably dressed and exuding class, she carried herself with the timeless poise, quiet elegance, and refinement of a true lady.
A gifted seamstress, she spent over 50 years crafting beautiful pieces of art. She also worked as a private home health provider and co-owned the Empire Restaurant with her husband.Hilda was best known for her unwavering love and devotion to family. She welcomed everyone with a warm hug and kiss, creating a home filled with love, kindness, and grace. Her gentle, nurturing spirit left a lasting legacy, instilling deep family values that continue through her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Stuart; her daughters, Linda Kalinosky and Mary Ethel; and her father & mother-in-law, Leon and Ethel Haucke. She leaves behind her children, Brigit (Donny) Wester, Sandra Haucke, and Jim (Michelle) Haucke; son-in-law Chuck Kalinosky; her sister, Natalia (Joaquin) Cardoso; grandchildren Jamie, Nathan, Morgan (Jordan), Alex (Adam), Ashley, Brittany (Andre), Skyler (Michelle), Ian (Karyssa), Bridgette, and Bryar (Lauren); and great-grandchildren Aniyah, Gavin, Logan, Evan, Sienna, Harrison, Mila, Hayes, Bodhi, Dalton, Vaasco, Tiago, Trinity, Sky, Iniko, Aiden, Landon, Finley, Nora, Eli, Sophia, and Emmalyn; as well as the countless extended family members from both her side and Stuart’s, all of whom she loved dearly.
A funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, March 7, 2025 at the Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, 1506 18th Street, Two Rivers, WI. Rev. Dave Pleier will preside at the service, with burial in Northwoods National Cemetery, Harshaw, WI at a later date.
The family will greet relatives and friends at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Friday March 7th from 1:00 until 3:00 p.m.

The family extends heartfelt gratitude to the staff at Legacy of Eagle River and Compassus Hospice for their compassionate care during Hilda’s final years.
Though we say goodbye to this remarkable woman, we find comfort in knowing she will one day embrace us again in heaven with open arms, asking for a "beijo" once more.
