Hilda Rea Cartrette Reynolds, age 84 of Lake Waccamaw, entered into the joys of Heaven on Saturday, September 27, 2025, at her residence surrounded by her family.

Hilda was born on September 6, 1941 in Columbus County. She was the widow of Charles Henry Reynolds for 59 years and the daughter of the late, King Dillie Cartrette and Lizzie Daisy Ann Cribb Cartrette. She was also preceded in death by four siblings, Ferril Cartrette, Kenneth Cartrette, Shelva C. Locklear and an infant, Michael Cartrette.

Final rites will be held at 3:00 p.m. Thursday, October 2, 2025 at the Worthington Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor William Schalk officiating. Interment will follow in Whiteville Memorial Cemetery.

The family will receive friends on Thursday from 2:00 p.m. until 2:45 pm prior to the service.

To cherish her memory, Hilda leaves behind her children, Charles Dewayne Reynolds (Regina), of Lake Waccamaw, Sue Reynolds Benton of Chadbourn, Greg Reynolds (Theresa) of Lake Waccamaw, and Terry Reynolds (Pam) of Whiteville; and a daughter-in-law, Denise L. Reynolds of Whiteville; grandchildren, Brian Reynolds, Jason Reynolds, Nathan Reynolds, Brandon Reynolds, Cody Reynolds, Jonathan Reynolds, Zachary Reynolds, Alexis Reynolds Hernandez, and Justin Benton; great-grandchildren: Dylan, Brayden, Chase, Ashtyn, Peyton, Aubrey, Spencer, Brentley, Daylon, Kristina, Addilyn, Flora and Rosie; two sisters, Kathryn C. Harrelson of Wilmington and Patricia C. Gerald (Gene) of Loris, SC; two sisters-in-law, Ethel Cartrette of Chadbourn and Dianne Reynolds of Lake Waccamaw.

A special thanks to the these special hospice workers for their loving care: Amelia Williams, Charlene Montgomery and Brittany Reece.
