It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Hilda H. Young, who peacefully departed this life on February 9, 2026, at the age of 85. Born on December 18, 1940, in Wind Gap, Hilda was the daughter of the late Joseph E., Sr. and Hannah M. (Frey) Young.
Hilda was a talented seamstress, dedicating a significant part of her life to her craft at Valerie Fashions in Wind Gap and Cami Sportswear in Bangor after graduating from Nazareth Area High School. Her passion for textiles was only matched by her love for horses, as she always found joy in riding and caring for these magnificent animals. Hilda also had a deep appreciation for cooking and baking, sharing her delicious creations with family and friends, which exemplified her nurturing spirit.
A devoted sister, Hilda is survived by her siblings, Joey Young and his wife Jeanette of Montana, Sandra Young of Allentown, and Linda Jones and her husband Benjamin of Nazareth. She cherished her family deeply and will be remembered fondly by her many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Hilda was predeceased by her beloved siblings, Vernon Young, Joan Fuls, and Myra Flyte.
Known for her unwavering kindness and willingness to share, Hilda treated everyone she met with warmth and compassion. Her legacy of love will live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Private services and interment will take place at Forks Church Cemetery in Stockertown at the convenience of the family. Hilda's memory will be cherished, and her spirit will continue to inspire those whose lives she touched.
