Hinda Miriam Greenspoon

Hinda was blessed to live a very long, well-loved life. She always said that her greatest accomplishments were her children and their offspring.
Born in Montreal, Quebec to Polly (née Finestone) and David Kobernick, she grew up between two brothers, Sydney and Eli, with whom she maintained lifelong connections and strong ties with their families.
Hinda had a sharp mind and, although resources were limited, she begged to be allowed to finish high school. She then completed her secretarial and bookkeeping training, paying for it by teaching English to French students. She always loved business and her true interest in other people made her a valued employee. She later worked alongside her husband, Eddie, as he founded his electrical contracting company EG Electric. Hinda and Eddie were partners in life for 64 years from their marriage in 1942 until his death in 2007. She missed him always. Hinda's legacy of strong family ties endures with the next generations. She was a caring and dedicated mother to her three children, Adele (Fred Simon), Bayla, and Danny (Lisa Kent). She was a beloved Gammy to David and Erika, Cynthia and Josh, Ezra and Charlie. She was a staunch supporter of her dear great grandchildren, Lexi, Allison and Evan. For the past 30 years she made her legendary "Good Shabbos Calls" to the family every Friday – a constant emphasis on the importance of our Jewish heritage.
The home that Hinda and Eddie created together was filled with love, music, great food, Jewish culture, Latin dancing, golf, and bridge games. And always, there were many friends and family – nieces, nephews, cousins – many of whom have expressed how important Hinda was to them.
At 101, Hinda was ready to go. We will miss her always, and have so many memories of her grace, sensitivity, sense of humor, tender heart, and true goodness.
We are enormously grateful for the loving care given her by the staff at Vi these last several years.
