Hershey was one of the nicest persons I have met and enjoyed every minute with him. I was very impressed and grateful for his service to our country! My deepest condolences to his family. May God give you peace!

My condolence to his family. Having known Hiroshi for over 20 years, and
remember the time he did his heroic act, 25 April 1951. I was close by.
Thanks Hiroshi for you last letter and photo from you last week. I will always treasure this last correspondence from you. RIP

Hershey was a true hero both in war and in civilian life. I regret I never got to meet him before he passed. Thanks to his best friend, Ken Riege of Comfort Suites in Gallup, I got to know him through Ken as a humble and gentle man. God bless him and all his family, we have lost an American treasure. Welcome home, rest in peace.
