Funeral services for Hixie Althia Hayes, 83, will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 1, 2025 at Rose-Neath Funeral Home, 1815 Marshall St., Shreveport, Louisiana. A visitation will be held from 12:00 p.m. until time of service. A burial will be held at Old Blanchard Cemetery in Blanchard, Louisiana. Officiating the service will be Brother Clay Fuqua.

Hixie was born to George and Hixie Hayes on August 19, 1942 in Blanchard, Louisiana and passed away Friday, September 26, 2025 in Shreveport, Louisiana.

She was a Bossier Parish school teacher for 38 years and retired after 45 years of teaching. She dedicated her life to her family, church and friends. During her final years, she spent as much time with her family as possible. Those memories will be truly cherished.

She is survived by her son, Mark P. Hayes and wife, Rose; daughters, Amy Harris and husband, Paul and Victoria Warner and husband, Brandon; grandchildren, Courtney Sullivan, Summer Hayes, Shelby Butler, Justin, Micah, Elizabeth, Ethan, Lexi, Aidan, Amya, Dalyla, Malani and Landan; great-grandchildren, Kaloni, Caleum, Jemma and Jaci.

Honoring Hixie as pallbearers will be Brandon Warner, Dustin Warner, Paul Harris, Garrett Strickland, Casey Sulllivan, Michael Warner and Steve Stuckey.
