It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Hoang Van Phan on September 18, 2024. Hoang was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend. He is survived by his devoted wife, Cam Nguyen; his son, Vu Phan; his daughter, Linh Phan; his cherished granddaughter, Sophia Britt; his daughter in law, Jeanine Phan; and his two sisters and two brothers.
Hoang was known for his kindness, wisdom, and unwavering dedication to his family. From a young age, he demonstrated a remarkable work ethic, selling ice cream to local students after school while balancing his own education. His hard work continued throughout his life, eventually leading him to a career as a charter bus driver, where he met his future wife, Cam.
In pursuit of a better future, Hoang and his family moved to the United States, settling in Imlay City, MI. He found employment as a machine operator at Bar Processing Corp, where he worked since 2003. Hoang’s dedication to his family was evident in his tireless work ethic, often taking on 2-3 additional jobs to ensure his family was well cared for and free from financial burdens. He often said, "Everything I am, have been, and will become is dedicated to my family.”
Hoang’s commitment to achieving the “American Dream” provided unwavering support for his wife and children. He was a kindhearted man, always willing to help anyone in need and repaying kindness in any way he could.
Hoang had a passion for gardening with his wife, creating full fruit and vegetable gardens wherever they lived. He was also a huge fan of Vietnamese movies and shows, a love that stemmed from his enjoyment of western and cowboy movies in his youth.
Hoang passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family, who were with him as he took his last breath in this world.
