Hollingsworth Franklin "Frank" Gregory, Jr. was born on October 21, 1947, in Washington, DC, and he passed away in Albuquerque, New Mexico on March 20, 2024. He was the son of Hollingsworth Franklin Gregory (Frank) and Sarah Elizabeth Kohr Gregory (Betty). Frank graduated from Memorial High School in Tulsa, Oklahoma in 1966. He then attended Oklahoma State University and completed his Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering (1970) and his Master of Science in Industrial Engineering (1972). Following graduation, he began his 30+ year career working for the Department of Energy.
Frank is survived by his wife, Nora, of Albuquerque, New Mexico; his sister Glennie Jones of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; daughter Kelly Gould (Jared) of Waco, Texas; son Trey Gregory of Riverside, California; mother-in-law Virginia West of Albuquerque; sisters-in-law Jan Teater of Montgomery, Texas and Elaine Honeck (Tim) of Brentwood, Tennessee, along with several nieces and nephews; stepdaughters Angela Kubie (Jacob) of Denver, Colorado, Stephanie Reyes (Raul) and Meredith Phillips (Jimmy) of Albuquerque; grandchildren Julie and Jackson Gould of Waco, Mae and Rose Kubie of Denver, Wes Reyes and Graham and Cole Phillips of Albuquerque.
Frank Gregory will be remembered best for his love of God, his family, his country, and his unique personality. Frank had an uncanny ability to recall names, facts, and events that only he could remember, particularly if it involved sports or military events. Frank was fondly called “Motor Head” by his wife. He loved planes and boats, but his true life-long hobby was his Corvettes. More than the cars, Frank treasured the great friendships he made with his car buddies (Marty, Bruce, Tim, Pat, and Jerry, to name a few).
Frank met Nora, the love of his life, at church. Frank immediately embraced Nora’s children and grandchildren as his own over their 20-year marriage. Nora and Frank were inseparable partners who fought his battle until the end when Frank met his eternal Father.
A special thank you to Frank’s private caregivers, Sharon, Elisa, and Avis, as well as the care provided by Bosque Trails Hospice and Chasie and Tasha. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to your church or favorite veterans’ charity.
