Hollis "PaPa" Small, 92, of Thomasville, Georgia, died on Sunday, November 2, 2025, at Wood Leaf Senior Care.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, November 5, 2025, at Baker Funeral Home, Moultrie, Georgia, with Elder Terry Barnard officiating. Interment will follow at Westview Cemetery. Mr. Small’s nephews will serve as pallbearers.
Visitation will be held one hour before the service in the chapel of Baker Funeral Home.
Born on November 20, 1932, in Ocilla, Georgia, he was the son of the late Henry Small and Hilda Richardson Small. He was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Family was always at the center of his life. He found his greatest joy in the time spent with those he loved. He appreciated life’s simple pleasures and found peace in the outdoors. An avid hunter and fisherman, he loved spending time in nature. He took pride in his garden and enjoyed watching it thrive each season. A lover of history and craftsmanship, he also enjoyed collecting antiques. He was of the Nazarene faith.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cathy Smith, and his brother, Hershel Small.
He is survived by his loving wife, Maureen Murphy Small of Thomasville, Georgia, his son, Keith Hamby of Thomasville, Georgia; his daughter, Debbie Hamby Love and husband Johnny of Ocklocknee, Georgia; his brother Herman Small and wife Helen of Dallas, Georgia; ten grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family.
