She was born September 29, 1945, in Somerset, KY, to Chester and Helen (Hood) Gregory.
On February 7, 1966, in Illinois, she married Frank Zilinger, who preceded her in death.
Hollis was a homemaker who liked to sew, cook, and bake. She loved music and would enjoy singing along to what she was listening to. Above all, she loved to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Helena May, Albert and Lilyana Zilinger; a brother, Charles Gregory; grandchildren, Holly May, Jeremy Zilinger, Matthew Romanowski, Timothy Zilinger, Frank Zilinger III, Ashley Zilinger, and Jacqueline Zilinger; and three great grandchildren, Kyle Zilinger, Mason Zilinger, and Ezra Martinez.
Hollis was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Frank; a son, Frank Zilinger Jr.; sisters, Judy Askwith, Charlene Sobi, Edna Kendall, and Christine Smith; half-sister, Betty Sears; and a niece, Ann Marie.
A celebration of life will be held at 12:00 p.m., Friday, September 19, 2025 at Graceland Cemetery, 1505 E. Morthland Dr, Valparaiso, IN 46383, (219) 462-3511. A visitation and viewing will be held from 11:00 a.m. until service time. Burial will follow.
