Holly Bukey Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Stork-Morley Funerals and Cremation - Lakewood on Mar. 27, 2026.
It is with deep sorrow and loving reverence that we announce the passing of Holly Bukey, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. Born Holly Sue Johnson on Aug 1st, 1952, in Lander, WY, Holly transitioned out of this life on March 21, 2026, in Denver, CO. She touched many lives with her humor, wit, creativity and love.

Holly was a lifelong Park Hill resident, where she raised her children, doted on her grandchildren and always had an open door to anyone looking for a visit or a good meal. The meaning of home was very important to her; she tended to her garden with pride and loved hosting family gatherings. Her life in Park Hill was also professional; she was the baker at Spinelli's Market for many years and loved using her hands to make the delicious treats that fed the neighborhood.

Holly was never one to turn down a good joke, a good concert, a good whiskey, or a good chili relleno. She was a true artist – over the years she crafted everything from handmade purses to baskets to her most prized creations: custom pet portraits that she painted with such detail people would special order them. Many of these pictures hang on walls around the country.

Holly is survived by her children – son Zeb and daughter-in-law Kelly, daughter Layne; granddaughters Estelle and Rozlyn; brother Phil and sister-in-law Lou, brother Scott and sister-in-law Cecille, sister Margo, nieces and nephews, cousins, and countless friends. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Margaret; father William and stepfather Robert.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, we encourage you to honor Holly's legacy by remembering to smell the lilacs as they bloom this Spring, enjoy a strong cup of coffee with the perfect amount of cream and sugar (preferably with a crossword or jigsaw puzzle) and delight in a wicked belly laugh with your loved ones. Life is short, but it is wide.
