Holly Condon Obituary

Obituary published on Legacy.com by Luce Funeral Home - Gettysburg from Mar. 10 to Mar. 11, 2026.
Holly Condon, 46, of Eagle Butte, passed away Monday, March 9, 2026, at Monument Health Hospital, Rapid City.

Funeral services will be 12:00 p.m. MDT, Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at CRST Bingo Hall, Eagle Butte. Burial will follow in the Eagle Butte Cemetery, Eagle Butte. A wake service will be 7:00 p.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2026, at the hall, with a procession from the 4-mile at 4:00 p.m.

Holly Sue Condon was born on December 17, 1979, in Rapid City, South Dakota, the youngest of four daughters born to Faye (Flying By) and Chester Condon. She was the youngest child, the baby of the family, and when she was very little, she was nicknamed "Pooh" and was also called "Pooh Bear," by her family and friends all her life. When she was around two years old, she had medical problems that affected her hips and she was confined to a body cast from the waist down. The older kids would play with her and keep her company. They would carry her everywhere and she became very spoiled.

Holly was always a little tomboy. She could be found playing with trucks or cars or in the dirt with her male cousins. She spent much of her time with Leland, Craig, Braden and Branden, Shilo, Baby Ronnie and Billy. They were her sidekicks growing up in the community of Cherry Creek, which was always "home" to her. She liked to wear cowboy boots and a hat, and she was treated like one of the boys. Holly was also very close to her girl cousins, especially as they grew older their bonds grew stronger. She would go and stay for days visiting and hanging out with them, they grew up as sisters and always had each other's back. Holly took fondly to her takoja, Kayson Dean Condon, whom she took in and raised as her own son. She enjoyed family events, hanging out with friends, and listening to music. She was always laughing and joking, and family meant a lot to her. After she lost her mom and dad, Pooh looked to her older sisters for love and support and did what she could to help. She loved all of her nieces, nephews and takoja's, and it was always a fun time hanging out with her. She was married to Krystan Circle Eagle and together they spent time taking care of and helping family members. Nate Benoist has always been the closest brother to Holly, and Bessie Eagle Chasing was also a very special person in her life.

Holly is survived by her wife, Krystan; son, Kayson Dean; stepson, Blake; sisters, Lynette Runs After (Murphy) and Laudine Condon; nieces: Tiffany, Rebecca, Kaitlyn, Cherae and Cara, Hailee, Conchita, Elena and Ashlee; nephews: Shaun, Ryan, Dustin, Joseph, Chato and Reuben; takoja's: Eliana, Ayden, Chyler, Enaysa, Daryl, Chris, Kayleigh, Bryson, Xavier, Daniel, Liam, Kazmira and Khloe, America, Montanna, McKenzie, Chep'e, Asminda Christina, Angelo, Peter, Kylie, Treyson, Angel, LaReina, Baby Chet, Dace and Monroe; sister/cousins: Angie Condon, Kate Condon, Melanie Benoist, Michelle Benoist, Susan Flying By, Lyndsey Flying By, Cora Flying By, Donita and Denette Flying By, Kerrie Collins, Melinda Flying By and Kayla Stewart; brother/cousins: Big Nate Benoist, Marc Benoist, Allen "Bink" Benoist, Leland Benoist, Jesse Stewart, John Flying By and Tony Flying By; grandmothers, Betty Hanley and Clarice Eagleshield Miner; and many relatives on the Cheyenne River Sioux and Standing Rock Sioux Reservations.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Faye and Chet; grandparents Reverend Moses and Leona Flying By (Holly carried her grandmother Leona's Lakota name); sisters, Lisa Condon and Marisa Benoist; brother, Wilbur Flying By, Jr.; niece, Condelaria Peralta; nephew, Cameron Ward; aunts: Cordelia Benoist, Menoda Flying By, Bernice Lightfield, Angeline Swan, Pearl Hollow Horn, Rose Dupris; uncles: Wilbur Flying By Sr., Russell Flying By, Myron and Byron Flying By, Andrew Condon and Pat Condon.
