Holly VanCourt Obituary

Holly Bank VanCourt, of Cockeysville, Maryland, passed away on Wednesday, January 24th, 2024, at the age of 49. She is survived by her beloved wife, Kat Urban; loving children, Cole, Rylan and Cooper VanCourt; adoring parents, Herbert and Sharron Bank; caring siblings, Michael (his wife Michelle) Bank, of Denver, Colorado, and Cindy Bank of Painesville Ohio; and her Aunts, Penny Bank, Penny Carr and Linda Carr-McKinney; she is also survived by many more loving family and friends.

Holly was one of a kind. She was bright, sharp, witty, caring and full of laughter. Her passion for life and her love for family and friends was immense. She was a lifelong avid equestrian, a horse lover, a competitor and a true supporter of the sport. Her enthusiasm for the sport started early riding and horse showing competitively and she also played polo in high school winning the National Polo Championship with her GFS team and graduating All American.

She was a successful realtor with BerkshireHathaway, receiving numerous outstanding awards for her accomplishments. She and her business partner focused on farm properties and took much pride in their work.

Her love for pugs must also not be overlooked.

She will be greatly missed by all but her memories will live on forever.

Holly graduated from Garrison Forest School '92 and received a Bachelor of Science from Boston University.

Holly was funny, witty, fun-loving, jubilant, smart, and silly hearted. She was kind, warm, and always fair, as far as I knew her to be. And, her treatment of people extended onto furry ones.

Even when she was fighting with cancer, her daily posts were humorous, entertaining, and in great spirit. She was impossible not to like and hard not to admire.

The last time we talked on the phone was cracking jokes, laughing (and at herself for being loopy on post-surgery meds), and beyond positive while talking about simple, futuristic things with optimism.

The very last thing she said to me was, "I appreciate the little things no matter how small, because in the end, they are the big things!" That's the last thing she said other than responding to my holiday text and exchanging merry Christmases to each other.

Rest, beautiful funny girl... Everything about you will be missed.

The saying goes, "May her memory be a blessing." With Holly's impact on my life, the billions of memories leave me with more blessings than anyone could imagine. I consider myself truly lucky to have had her as my closest friend for most of my life. There's no one else like her.

To Cole, Cooper, and Rylan: my heart goes out to you and I hope that, in time, you will be comforted by memories of her laughter and how she was able to find warmth, fun and silliness in nearly every situation.
