Homer John Parker

Graveside services for Homer John Parker will be held at 10:30 am Saturday December 6, 2025, at the Drake-Nebo Cemetery near Sulphur, Oklahoma with Military Honors by the United States Navy Honor Guard. Greg Jones will officiate.

Homer was born Sunday May 17, 1936, in Binger, Oklahoma to George Austin and Martha May (Wisinger) Parker and died Tuesday December 2, 2025, in Ardmore, Oklahoma at the age of 89 years, 6 months and 16 days.

Homer made a career serving in the United States Navy where he received the following commendations: National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Service Medal, 3 Good Conduct Awards, Navy Unit Commendation, Presidential Unit Commendation. During his time of service, he received the following military education; Intermediate Welding Course, Advanced Welding Course, Nuclear Power Plant Components Welding, Basic Fire Fighting School and Petty Officer Leadership. In his civilian life he was a mechanic and maintenance man.

Homer is preceded in death by his parents, siblings, Danny Parker, Ruby Roundtree, and his wife Pat Parker. He is survived by his sister, Dana Boulton; sons, Austin Parker and his wife Jessi, Homer Parker Jr. and his wife Barbara, Aaron Parker and his wife Gena; daughter, Cressandra Parker; grandchildren, Christopher, Jessi, Zachary, Joshua, Matthew, Steven, Garrett, Desiree, Joseph Ace, Maddex, Addalie, and Hannah.
